We drove out past Darringon on the Mountain Loop Highway to Beaver Lake on the Sauk River. What a beautiful hike! A level walk in the woods, complete with trillum trail, skunk cabbage, salmonberry blossoms, vine maple leaflets, wild bleeding hearts, new leaves of Herb Robert, the fungus among us, flowing river, foot bridge, beaver dams, beaver den, a few raindrops, dark clouds, white clouds and some sunshine, too! We did 3.5 miles roundtrip on a LEVEL trail. Fantastic day and one of my favorite excursions so far!
I LOVE that I'm eating REAL food. I will weigh tomorrow, I have no idea if I've actually lost any weight, but I feel much more in control. I'm motivated like never before and actually passed on an opportunity to drive through McDonald's for a quick burger on the way home.
Eager to do my neighborhood loop again tomorrow...totally boring scenery compared to today's majestic mountain/river/woodland path!
